Manhattan's Chinatown radiates outward from Canal Street and the Bowery, extending south toward the Manhattan Bridge and east toward the Lower East Side. It is one of the densest neighborhoods in the city, with narrow streets packed with produce vendors, fish markets, restaurants, and pedestrians at almost every hour. Dog walking in Chinatown requires confidence navigating crowded sidewalks, an understanding that some blocks have no sidewalk buffer from street traffic, and awareness that the sensory environment — smells from food stalls, noise from delivery trucks, and dense foot traffic — can be overwhelming for reactive dogs.

Columbus Park at Baxter and Mulberry streets is the neighborhood's primary green space, a well-used park with tai chi practitioners, chess players, and open areas where dog owners bring their pets. The neighborhood's pet culture is growing alongside new residential development on the eastern side, though the market for professional dog walking services is less established than in the Village or SoHo. Walkers working in Chinatown often also serve the Lower East Side and Nolita.
